When you are renovating your kitchen, it can be an exciting but stressful time. It’s wonderful that you get to create the kitchen of your dreams, and you are likely quite excited to see the finished product. Yet at the same time, there are many stressors associated with a remodel of any kind. The costs associated with the remodel, being without your kitchen for weeks at a time, and needing to make a million small decisions can make you anxious. At Royal Granite Countertops, we offer kitchen countertop installation for a discounted price, and we do everything in our power to ensure that our countertop installation process goes as smoothly and quickly as possible. We also want to do what we can to help you with your decision fatigue. In our last blog, we started going over some kitchen remodeling tips. In this blog, we will continue the list to help you remodel your kitchen so it is as beautiful and functional as you have imagined.

Consider Your Island’s Role

When you are designing a kitchen with an island, make sure you know how you are going to use it before you design it. If its primary function will be for chopping vegetables and other food prep, you may want to keep it closer to the stove. If you intend to use it solely for dining, you want to make sure it is far enough away from the cooktop to ensure safety. Alternatively, if you want to use it for both, you can have one side be raised for the dining portion.

Don’t Skimp on Outlets

It’s easy to forget to install enough outlets in your kitchen until it is too late. With so many different appliances, you want to make sure that you have plenty of outlets to accommodate them. Don’t forget to install a few outlets along the backsplash so that you can plug in your toaster, coffee maker, blender, crock pot, microwave, and other appliances wherever you need them

Pick One Focal Point

While you may like the appearance of a colorful tile, fancy backsplash, large range hood, or bright cabinets, when you bring them all together, it is overwhelming to the eye and will make your space look more cluttered. Pick one focal point of your kitchen, and let the rest of it be less attention-grabbing but still aesthetically pleasing in order to complement it.

Can’t Forget Countertops

Your countertops are one of the most important choices you will make in terms of style and functionality in your kitchen. You want to make sure that your kitchen countertops are durable, attractive, and functional. You will need to choose the material, color, and style. At Royal Granite, we have many years of experience installing quartz and granite countertops, with many satisfied customers to show for it. We will help you through the entire process, from selection and layout to installation, so you don’t have to stress about this decision out of the many you must make during this process.
